MARION, Ind. -- Sophomore Sarah Horsch and freshman Megan Marshall were each named Mid-Central College Conference Players of the Week, according to the conference. Horsch earns the honors as the Defensive Player of the Week not only for her defense, but her offense as well. In the MCC tournament semifinals and finals, Horsch and the Wildcat defense only allowed one goal. But Horsch recorded the only goal in the tournament final to help IWU overcome the University of Saint Francis 1-0. Marshall takes home the Offensive Player of the Week for her performance in the MCC tournament semifinal. In the 7-1 victory over Marian (Ind.) College, Marshall tallied two goals. Indiana Wesleyan captured the MCC regular season and tournament championships en route to an 18-1 season to date. The Wildcats return to action this weekend at the NAIA Region VIII Championships in Grand Rapids, Michigan. The Wildcats will battle Cornerstone (Mich.) University at 3 p.m. on Friday, November 2 in the regional semifinal. If IWU wins that match, the Wildcats would play at 2 p.m. on Saturday, November 3 against either St. Francis or Aquinas College.
