MARION, Ind. -- Forward Kelsey Johnston from Heritage Christian High School has signed to play for Indiana Wesleyan University women's soccer in fall of 2009.

Johnston also plays for the Carmel Fire, who was runner-up at the Indian State Cup last spring.

"Kelsey's high school accomplishments and experience with the elite Carmel Fire make her a great addition to our squad," said Indiana Wesleyan head coach Dr. John Bratcher. "She has a nose for the goal that many forwards at the college level do not possess. It will be great to see her and early signee Kylie Dial playing together for the Wildcat as front runners.

Her high school honors include All-District for two years years, All-City for two years, All-City Honorable Mention two times, All-Area Honorable Mention twice, All-North once and is a four year letter winner. Last fall, Johnston was the Heritage Christian Most Valuable Player.

Bratcher said, "I have enjoyed watching Kelsey play in high school and for the Carmel Fire. I and am excited that she is coming to IWU."
