NORTH CANTON, Ohio -- Lightning cut short the Indiana Wesleyan University women's soccer bid for a victory in their season opener on Friday night at Walsh (Ohio) University in North Canton, Ohio.
With Indiana Wesleyan maintaing a 2-0 advantage in the 57th minute, the match was halted due to lightning. After an hour and a half wait, the contest was called off due to the weather.
A match must reach at least 70 minutes in length to count as an official match. Since the contest did not meet the minimum requirements the match is considered a no-contest.
Indiana Wesleyan's second season opener will be on September 3 as the Wildcats travel to play Lindsey Wilson (Ky.) College in Columbia, Kentucky.
