MARION, Ind. -- The NCCAA has named Indiana Wesleyan University senior Ben Bischoff and freshman Andrea Meyering the NCCAA Men's and Women's Tennis Student-Athletes of the Week.

The honors are the first in the career for each student-athlete.

Bischoff led the Wildcat men's tennis team in a 9-0 defeat of Marian (Ind.) College in the season and Mid-Central College Conference opener for Indiana Wesleyan. Bischoff earned a pair of points with a 6-4, 6-4 victory in No. 2-singles and an 8-2 win in No. 1-doubles with partner Matt Pedersen.

Meyering also gained a pair of points for Indiana Wesleyan in her collegiate debut, a 7-2 win over Marian. She teamed with fellow freshman Lauren Wilson to capture an 8-2 win in No. 2-doubles and cruised to a 6-3, 6-1 victory in No. 2-singles.

Both Wildcat tennis teams now stand 1-0 on the season and in conference action. The men's team hosts Grace (Ind.) College and the women travel to play at Grace in Winona Lake on Tuesday.
