MARION, Ind. -- Indiana Wesleyan University is ranked No. 17 in the first regular season NAIA Women's Soccer Top-25 Coaches' Poll.

The Wildcats fall one spot from the preseason ranking of No. 16 following a narrow 1-0 loss at then No. 3-ranked Lindsey Wilson (Ky.) College. IWU is the lone Mid-Central College Conference representative in the Top-25.

Indiana Wesleyan earned 289 points in the poll and is a mere 10 points out of the top-15.

Atop the ranking is California Baptist University with only seven of 22 first place votes and 605 points. Concordia (Ore.) University is second with 11 first place votes and 604 points. Lee (Tenn.) University captured the other four first place votes and is third with 594 points.

Indiana Wesleyan is currently 1-1 following a 4-0 victory over Cedarville (Ohio) University on Tuesday night. The Wildcats will host a pair of matches over the weekend as IWU plays Hannibal-LaGrange (Mo.) University on Friday, September 11 and Asbury (Ky.) College on Saturday, September 12. Kickoff is set for 7 p.m. at Wildcat Field for both contests.
