COLUMBUS, Ohio (Box Score) -- Ohio Dominican University scored on a late penalty kick to earn a tie with the No. 14-ranked Indiana Wesleyan University women's soccer on Tuesday night in Columbus, Ohio.

The Panthers were awarded a penalty kick in the 81st minute following a foul call in the 18-yard box. Sierra Patterson took advantage of the call to tie the match at 1-1.

Junior midfielder Brittany Smith scored the lone Wildcat goal in the 33rd minute for the first tally of the night. Smith headed home a crossing pass off the foot of junior forward Megan Marshall from outside the 18-yard box.

Ohio Dominican (2-2-1) held an 8-7 advantage in shots and also held a 4-2 lead in shots on goal.

Indiana Wesleyan (3-1-1) freshman goalkeeper Beth Anne Nowak, the defending Mid-Central College Conference Defensive Player of the Week, stopped three shots on goal.

The Wildcats will next play at 2 p.m. on Saturday, September 19 as Indiana Wesleyan battles St. Xavier University in Joliet, Illinois.
