CEDARVILLE, Ohio -- Day two is in the books of the ITA Midwest Regional Tennis Tournament which is being held at Cedarville, Ohio.

The two remaining women's tennis doubles teams were eliminated on Friday.

Freshmen Lauren Wilson and Andrea Meyering advanced to the semifinals due to the team from Marian (Ind.) University defaulting. But the Indiana Wesleyan tandem lost 8-3 to the top-ranked team from Taylor (Ind.) University, falling one match short of the finals.

The other Wildcat team of juniors Eva Delk and Lisa Massey were defeated 8-5 in the quarterfinals by a team from Ohio Dominican University.

Indiana Wesleyan is still alive in the regional tournament as only championship matches remain for Saturday morning. The two men's tennis doubles teams have advanced to the consolation bracket championship match to play each other.

Senior Carson VandenBossche and junior Matt Pederson earned victories of 8-4 in the consolation bracket quarterfinals and then won 8-2 in the semifinals to reach the final match. Awaiting the pair will be two familiar faces in senior Ben Bischoff and junior Micah May. Bischoff and May earned wins of 8-5 then 9-7 to earn a spot in the finals.

The consolation bracket championship match will be contested at 9 a.m. on Saturday, September 19.
