GOSHEN, Ind. (Results) -- Indiana Wesleyan University was able to get point No. 5 on Tuesday afternoon in men's tennis action before the rains halted the final match of the day at Goshen (Ind.) College.
Indiana Wesleyan held a 5-3 advantage over Goshen when rains brought an end to the No. 5-singles match and IWU left town with their unblemished Mid-Central College Conference record intact.
The win pushes Indiana Wesleyan to 6-0 in the conference and leaves Bethel (Ind.) College as the last remaining hurdle to back-to-back unbeaten conference championships for the Wildcats. That match takes place at 11 a.m. on Saturday, September 26 in Mishawaka, Indiana.
Goshen gave Indiana Wesleyan a scare after the Maple Leafs won two of three matches in the doubles portion of the contest. But individual play was dominated by Indiana Wesleyan with wins in four of the five matches with the sixth getting rained out.
Indiana Wesleyan will return to the courts at 4 p.m. on Thursday, September 24 as the Wildcats host Anderson (Ind.) University at the Sutter Tennis Center.
