MARION, Ind. -- The Mid-Central College Conference Men's Tennis Tournament came down to one point at Indiana Wesleyan University narrowly defeated Taylor (Ind.) University on Saturday afternoon.

Indiana Wesleyan finished with 16 points, one point ahead of runner-up Taylor at 15. Marian (Ind.) University placed third with 10 points.

Indiana Wesleyan had one doubles team remaining on Saturday and that was the No. 4-seed of Ben Bischoff and Micah May in No. 1-doubles. The pair lost 8-5 to Huntington (Ind.) University.

In singles play, Indiana Wesleyan won three of the four championship matches that they competed in.

No. 2-seed May won in straight sets 6-3, 7-5 to win No. 3-singles, top-seed Carson VandenBossche won No. 4-singles by scores of 6-2, 6-2 and top-seed Brooks Ayers was victorious in No. 6-singles with a 7-5, 6-2 victory.

In No. 1-singles, Matt Pedersen was the No. 2-seed and fell to the No. 1-seed by scores of 6-7, 4-6.

The Wildcats finished the weekend with four championships, including the team title.
