SILVIS, Ill. -- Indiana Wesleyan University golf currently sits fifth at the NAIA Preview Invitational being held in Silvis, Illinois.

The Wildcats finished the first round with a score of 301 in the 17 team field with programs from all around the country. The 6,625 yard, par-71 course held at TPC @ Deere Run will host the 2010 NAIA National Championship in the spring season on May 18-21.

Texas Wesleyan University leads the event with a 292 with four players in the top 14 spots. Saint Ambrose (Iowa) College is second with 295, Lindenwood (Mo.) University is third at 296 and Oklahoma City (Okla.) University sits fourth at 300. Indiana Wesleyan is positioned fifth with a 301.

Indiana Wesleyan is paced by two seniors who shot even par-71 on Thursday. Joe Madda (36-35) and Austin Conroy (35-36) trail the leader, Arvid Bengtsson from Shorter (Ga.) College, by two strokes.

Sophomore Matt Milholland is third for the Wildcats. He shot a first round score of 77 (37-40) and is tied for 35th. Sophomore Trey Rohrman was the final scorer for IWU on Thursday with an 82 (42-40) which puts him tied for 68th. The final competitor for the Wildcats is junior Kyle Martin who shot an 83 (39-44) and is currently tied for 75th.

A total of 90 student-athletes are participating in the event.

Indiana Wesleyan will open the second round of play at 10:45 a.m. ET on Friday.
