GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. -- Indiana Wesleyan University cross country teams took part in the NAIA Great Lakes Invitational on Saturday afternoon in Grand Rapids, Michigan.
The women earned third place and the men finished 10th as both teams ran in 21 team fields.
Scoring for the women were: senior Laura Dziagwa (12th; 19:07), junior Cassidy Wagner (17th, 19:11), senior Kailee Whitaker (18th; 19:12), freshman Emily Dean (25th; 19:20) and sophomore Anna Morgan (33rd; 19:39).
Cedarville (Ohio) University earned the team title with 59 points and Spring Arbor (Mich.) University was second with 76 points. Indiana Wesleyan totaled 105 points for the third place finish.
The women's race contained 223 runners.
On the men's side, the Wildcat men placed 10th with 268 points. Aquinas (Mich.) College earned the invitational championship with 57 points and Shawnee State (Ohio) University was runner-up with 58 points.
Scoring for the men were: sophomore Ethan Naylor (31st; 26:23), freshman Andrew Albert (50th; 26:56), sophomore Ethan Laudermilch (57th; 27:08), senior Joel Liechty (59th; 27:10) and senior Doug Alles (71st; 27:31).
There were 249 runners in the men's race.
The Wildcat cross country teams will take a week off before competing in the Mid-Central College Conference championships on Saturday, November 7 in Fort Wayne, Indiana.
