MARION, Ind. -- The Mid-Central College Conference has honored Indiana Wesleyan University senior goalkeeper Spenser Lang as the MCC Men's Soccer Defensive Player of the Week.

The recognition is the third this season for the Colorado Springs, Colorado native and the first since he earned the award during back-to-back weeks on September 21 and September 28. He has been acknowledged by the conference six times in his career.

Lang allowed one goal and saved 14 shots in two important conference matches last week against Goshen (Ind.) College and Grace (Ind.) College. He did not allow a goal during regulation time.

Goshen finally cracked Lang and the Wildcat defense in the 105th minute of play during a 1-0 double overtime win for the Maple Leafs. Lang stopped 12 shots prior to the golden goal.

In the final regular season match on the schedule, Indiana Wesleyan defeated Grace 1-0 to clinch third place in the conference over the Lancers. Lang earned his third shutout of the season with two saves.

Indiana Wesleyan completes the regular season 6-10-1 and 5-3-0 in the MCC.

The Wildcats open MCC Tournament play on Saturday, October 31 at home as the tournament's No. 3-seed. IWU will play host to No. 6-seed University of Saint Francis (Ind.) at a time still to be determined.
