MARION, Ind. -- The Mid-Central College Conference has released the MCC All-Conference Team and Indiana Wesleyan University is represented by three student-athletes.

Senior goalkeeper Spenser Lang, junior midfielder Mitch Lobdell and sophomore defender Ross Tanzer were named to the All-MCC First Team for their play during the season. The Wildcats completed the conference season with a third place finish courtesy of a 5-3-0 record.

"I'm proud of all three of these outstanding young men who are represented on the All-Conference First Team," said Indiana Wesleyan head coach Mark Castro. "All three deserve this tremendous honor."

Lang accumulated a 1.46 goals against average on the season and totaled three shutouts. During MCC play, the Colorado Springs, Colorado native was even more impressive with a 0.88 goals against average and a .806 save percentage. All three of his shutouts came during conference play and he allowed just seven goals during the MCC slate.

Castro said, "Spenser is the top goalkeeper in the conference thanks in part to his three years experience in being in our goal at IWU and also to his extensive youth background experience. For sure he is the best goalkeeper we have ever had at IWU and I am pleased that the rest of the coaches in our conference feel the same as I do."

Lobdell scored one goal and is tied for the team lead with three assists. The Colorado Springs, Colorado native patrolled the midfield all year for the Wildcats and his strong play all season long was awarded. Lobdell scored one goal and assisted on two others in eight conference matches.

"Even though Mitch has not put up the stats this year as he would have liked, he still adds so much to our midfield. His exquisite passing and strength on the ball has allowed him to shine for us," stated Castro. "He grows everyday in his leadership role. His peak is still to come.It is amazing to watch him play this game which he is so passionate about."

Tanzer has played multiple positions this season for Indiana Wesleyan but has excelled as the Wildcats' center back. The Orland Park, Illinois native helped guide the defense to five shutouts on the season with four of them coming during MCC play. Tanzer scored three goals and had three assists on the year and he scored one goal and assisted on two others in MCC matches.

"Ross has consistently been the best player for us this season," Castro said. "He is so versatile in that we can play him at literally ten positions and he will excel at each.Right now he serves the team best at center back. He is still young but has so much incredible potential that it is going to be a joy to watch him develop in the next two years."

Indiana Wesleyan will open postseason play this weekend. IWU is the MCC No. 3-seed and will host No. 6-seed University of Saint Francis (Ind.) at 5:30 p.m. on Saturday, October 31 at Wildcat Field.
