MARION, Ind. -- Indiana Wesleyan University junior forward Megan Marshall has been honored by the National Soccer Coaches' Association of America for her work in the classroom and on the field of play.
Marshall was named to the second team of the college division NSCAA Women's Soccer Scholar All-America Team after being named to the Central Region First Team. The college division consists of NAIA, NCAA Division II and NCAA Division III programs.
To be nominated for consideration, student-athletes must have at least a 3.30 cumulative grade point average (on a 4.0 scale) throughout their career; start more than 50 percent of all games and be a significant contributor to the team; be nominated by an institution that is a current NSCAA College Services member; be a junior or above in academic standing at the current institution and either be in their second year at the current school if a transfer student.
The NSCAA/Adidas Scholar All-America selections will be recognized at the annual All-America Luncheon, held in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania on January 16 as part of the 2010 NSCAA Convention.
Marshall has already been honored this season as a NAIA All-American Second Team selection, NAIA Scholar-Athlete, Mid-Central College Conference Offensive Player of the Year and MCC All-Conference First Team.
Indiana Wesleyan finished the season ranked No. 11 in the NAIA and advanced to the NAIA National Championship Round of 16 where the Wildcats lost 2-1 to No. 4-ranked Azusa Pacific (Calif.) University.
