MARION, Ind. -- The Mid-Central College Conference has named Indiana Wesleyan University senior center Zach Coverstone the MCC Men's Basketball Player of the Week for the third time this season. The honor is the six in his career.
Coverstone led the Wildcats to a pair of home wins over Huntington (Ind.) University and No. 19-ranked Spring Arbor (Mich.) University. The Columbia City, Indiana native averaged 17.5 points, 8.5 rebounds, 5.0 assists and 3.5 blocks.
On Tuesday against Huntington, Coverstone gained his 12th double-double of the season with game-highs of 20 points and 11 rebounds. He also added four assists and three blocked shots.
In the NAIA DII Game of the Week versus Spring Arbor, Coverstone had team-highs of 15 points, six assists and four blocks.
Indiana Wesleyan is ranked No. 5 in the nation and has won 17 of its last 18 games en route to a 22-4 record. IWU will next play at 7 p.m. on Tuesday, February 9 at No. 8-ranked University of Saint Francis in Fort Wayne, Indiana.
Indiana Wesleyan is offering a free ride on the fan bus to the game at Saint Francis. Signup in the Athletic Department office in the Recreation and Wellness Center as space is limited. The ride is free due to a generous donation.
