MARION, Ind. -- Indiana Wesleyan University remained No. 5 for the second consecutive NAIA Division II Men's Basketball Coaches' Top-25 Poll released Monday night.
The Wildcats have skyrocketed in the rankings behind a streak of 17 wins in 18 games en route to a 22-4 record. IWU pulled in 284 points in the poll.
Walsh (Ohio) University overtakes the top spot in the poll for the first time this season. Walsh earned eight of the 15 first place votes for 429 points. Oklahoma Wesleyan University, the No. 1-ranked team all season, drops to No. 2 with seven first place votes and 426 points. Oregon Tech received the final first place vote for third place with 404 points.
Indiana University-Southeast is fourth place with 395 points, 11 points ahead of Indiana Wesleyan.
The Wildcats face another top-10 team this week, the second time in three weeks. This time IWU will play at No. 7-ranked University of Saint Francis in Fort Wayne, Indiana. Tip-off is scheduled for 7 p.m.
