MARION, Ind. -- Indiana Wesleyan University improved one spot this week to No. 8 in the NAIA Division II Women's Basketball Coaches' Top-25 Poll, released Monday evening.
The Wildcats accomplished a lot last week with a pair of victories over ranked opponents.
Indiana Wesleyan defeated then No. 11-ranked University of Saint Francis 75-73 in a battle for first place in the Mid-Central College Conference as IWU now holds a one game lead over USF. Indiana Wesleyan completed the week with a convincing 74-53 victory at then No. 24-ranked Marian (Ind.) University.
Hastings (Neb.) College is ranked first in the poll with all 15 first place votes and 405 points. Davenport (Mich.) University is second with 391 points and Cedarville (Ohio) University is third with 378 points.
Indiana Wesleyan is 23-5 this season and was credited with 321 points.
Three other MCC programs join IWU in the Top-25. Saint Francis is No. 12, Huntington (Ind.) University is No. 17 and Bethel (Ind.) College in No. 24.
The Wildcats complete the regular season this week with a pair of home games in Luckey Arena. Indiana Wesleyan hosts Grace (Ind.) College on ‘Pink Out' night at 7 p.m. on Wednesday, February 17 and finishes the schedule at 1 p.m. on Saturday, February 20 against Taylor (Ind.) University.
