NASHVILLE, Tenn. -- Trevecca Nazarene (Tenn.) University spoiled the season opening doubleheader for Indiana Wesleyan University softball on Friday with a pair of walk-off home runs in Nashville, Tennessee.

Trevecca Nazarene won a pair of one run decisions by scores of 4-3 and 3-2.

In game one, Indiana Wesleyan opened the scoring with a pair of runs in the second inning. Trevecca Nazarene cut the lead in half with a single run in the fourth.

The Wildcats recaptured a two run lead in the fifth as senior second baseman Christy Gibson grounded out with the bases loaded to score senior shortstop Katie Berkemeier. But the Trojans responded with a pair of runs in the bottom half of the inning to chase sophomore starting pitcher Abbie Forman.

The game remained tied until TNU hit a walk-off home run to lead off the bottom of the seventh inning for the 4-3 victory.

In game two, Trevecca Nazarene built a 2-0 lead with single runs in the first and fourth innings off Indiana Wesleyan junior starting pitcher Katie Hall. But this time Indiana Wesleyan overcame a two run deficit with a pair of runs in the fifth inning.

Sophomore center fielder Tamara Davis singled to center to chase home sophomore left fielder Kelsey Decker. Berkemeier followed with a sac fly that scored freshman third baseman Katie Smith from third base to tie the score 2-2.

The score remained tied until déjà vu hit. The game came to a screeching halt as the Trojans led off the bottom of the seventh inning with a walk-off home run for the 3-2 win.
