KISSIMMEE, Fla. -- Indiana Wesleyan University softball defeated Alverno (Wis.) University 5-0 and Clarke (Iowa) College 5-0 on Wednesday at the Rebel Spring Games in Kissimmee, Florida.
The pair of wins evens the Wildcats' record at 5-5 on the season.
In the first game with Alverno (3-3), Indiana Wesleyan earned a dominating pitching performance from sophomore Abbie Forman. She allowed a single hit in six innings with six strikeouts.
Sophomore Tamara Davis was 3-for-4 at the plate and senior Katie Berkemeier was 2-for-3 with a double.
Indiana Wesleyan received a second stellar pitching performance in the second game with Clarke from junior Katie Hall. She pitched a complete game shutout with nine strikeouts.
Davis and senior Molly Yothment each went 2-for-4 to lead the Wildcat offensive attack.
Indiana Wesleyan will enjoy an off day in Florida on Thursday before returning to play on Friday with a pair of games against Saint Xavier (Ill.) University and Walsh (Ohio) University.
