MARION, Ind. -- The NAIA released its bracket for the 2010 NAIA Division II Women's Basketball National Championship on Wednesday.
Indiana Wesleyan University received one of four No. 3-seeds and will play Concordia (Neb.) University in the first round of games. The contest will be played at 6:15 p.m. ET on Wednesday, March 10 in Sioux City, Iowa.
The 32 team field is divided into four quadrants of eight teams. Each team then received a seeding between one and eight. A total of 31 games will be played in the national championship tournament which will run from March 10-16 in Sioux City.
Indiana Wesleyan received and at large bid into the tournament. IWU heads into the tournament with a 26-6 record and a regular season championship in the Mid-Central College Conference.
The Wildcats make their eighth consecutive trip to the national tournament where IWU holds a record of 11-6. The Wildcats claimed the 2007 national championship in a season where IWU went 38-0.
Concordia enters tournament play with a 21-9 record and received another at large bid to Sioux City. CU finished fifth place in the very competitive Great Plains Athletic Conference with an 11-7 record. The GPAC has won every national title since 2001 except for one, 2007.
The national tournament appearance is the 11th for the program. Concordia has amassed a record of 13-9 at the national championship but has yet to win a title.
The first round showdown will feature teams from the two conferences with the most representation, with nine of the 32 teams. The GPAC has five teams while the MCC brings four teams.
