Men's Soccer - Mon, Mar 8, 2010
Indiana Wesleyan University men's soccer head coach Mark Castro and his coaching staff have signed yet another outstanding recruiting class to national letters-of-intent.

Joining the Wildcats for the 2010 season will be Zach Hammon (Fishers, Indiana), Josh Schultz (Beavercreek, Ohio), Kris Jacobs (Clarkslake, Michigan), Dylan McCauley (Fishers, Indiana) and Tad Glibert (Mount Vernon, Ohio).

"We are only losing three seniors due to graduation so we have been extremely selective in the players we are adding for our 2010 season and we feel confident in the players we are bringing in to fill their vacancies," said Castro. "All five freshmen play at high levels within their respective high schools and club programs and I feel all five are going to make us better next year. Included in the impressive class are two goalkeepers, two defenders and an attacker."

Coach Castro says about Zach

Strengths I see in Zach are that he is a fantastic shot blocker. His frame is solid and he is fearless at throwing his body at the hardest shots. He is a good communicator who keeps his backs in line. His punts and goal kicks are of quality as well. Zach is coachable and has already begun working with our goalkeeping coach Matt Dawdy to sharpen up his skills. He also has a nice personality that will fit in with our team.

Coach Castro says about Josh…
Strength I see in Josh is his size and strength. He has a tenacity to get in strong on tackles and his ability to win 50/50 will be critical next year. He is an experienced defender who organizes back line. He has a solid technical ability and wonderful composure on the ball. His high level of club experience will give him a fantastic foundation to deal with the pressure of the college game.

Coach Castro says about Kris
Strengths I see in Kris is number one his desire to be the best player he can be. He is always asking what he can do to develop his game and he is doing just that. He is a technical player who is comfortable with the ball at his feet and he is a goal scorer. His commitment and desire to be the best will catapult his potential to great heights. The best attribute that I like about Kris is that he absolutely believes in IWU soccer and really wants to be a part of our winning program.

Coach Castro says about Dylan
Dylan carries a wonderful presence in his box standing at 6'2" 205 pounds. He is courageous at making saves due to his knowledge of cutting angles. He is an experienced goalkeeper thanks to his training at Carmel United where he has competed against the top teams in the nation. His distribution is a key quality. Many of his team's attacks begin with him and how he varies his distribution. His arm is a canon. He is comfortable with back passes and he communicates effectively to his back line. Dylan's best attribute is the maturity and personality he adds to our team.

Coach Castro says about Tad
Tad brings pace, size and a tremendous jumping ability to our program. He is technical and confident with the ball at his feet. He likes to attack out of the back to create goal scoring opportunities. His 1 v 1 defending is excellent and rarely gets beat by an attacker. The great plus Tad brings is his ability to out jump opponents for 50/50 balls and to score goals off crosses and corners. He has a nose for the goal and manages to get his head or other body part on a crossed ball and deposit it in the back of the net. His offensive heading ability is a massive weapon for us next year.
