MARION, Ind. -- Indiana Wesleyan University men's basketball senior center Zach Coverstone capped off his stellar collegiate career by being the first Wildcat to be name to the NAIA Division II All-American First-Team.

The Columbia City, Indiana native built upon his solid junior season in which he was named All-American Honorable Mention and All-MCC Second Team. Coverstone was also named to the All-MCC Third Team as a sophomore.

The MCC First-Team All-Conference and MCC Defensive Player of the Year led the Wildcats in scoring (18.2 points), rebounding (9.3 rebounds), and blocked shots (2.8 blocks). He was also second on the team in assists (2.9).

Coverstone was named the NAIA Division II National Player of the Week on January 5 and was named MCC Player of the Week four times.

The recognition comes after Coverstone led Indiana Wesleyan to its highest ranking in school history (No. 3), a MCC regular season championship, the program's first MCC Tournament championship and the third NAIA Elite Eight showing at the NAIA DII National Championship.

Indiana Wesleyan finished the season 30-6 which ties the program record for wins in a season.
