MARION, Ind. -- Indiana Wesleyan University volleyball head coach Candace Moats has announced that Rae and Rebecca Brandes from Twin Lakes, Wisconsin have decided to continue their volleyball playing career at Indiana Wesleyan.
Rae and Rebecca will graduate from Faith Christian School having both received multiple accolades in several sports throughout their high school careers. Both athletes played their club volleyball for Wisconsin Juniors, competing this current season on the 18-1's team.
Rae is a versatile athlete earning all-conference awards in volleyball, basketball and softball.Rae also received additional volleyball awards including being named to the JVDA All-Tournament team, All-State Honorable Mention and the team's co-MVP for three years.
Coach Moats says, "I am excited with the versatility that Rae brings to our team.She has the ability to hit from all three front row positions, set, and play defense."
Rebecca is also a decorated athlete earning team MVP awards in volleyball, softball and basketball.Becca received all-conference awards in volleyball, basketball and softball for three years. Max Preps honored Rebecca as the Volleyball Player of the Month for October.
When asked about Rebecca, IWU coach Candace Moats said, "Becca is a hard working defender that relentlessly pursues the ball.Couple that with her unique ability to see the court and I am excited for the impact that she will have for the Wildcats."
"Both athletes are humble individuals that understand the team concept needed to take IWU back to the National Tournament," said Moats. "The Brandes twins are tenacious in their pursuit of the ball and have a dedicated work ethic to improve each day. They both have experienced a high level of play and posses a high intellectual knowledge of the game of volleyball. I am excited to have the Brandes sisters join our team and for the leaders that they will become."
