UPLAND, Ind. 11 Indiana Wesleyan University outdoor track and field took part in the Taylor Invitational in Upland, Indiana on Saturday afternoon.

The Wildcat women won the eight team invitational behind 12 event victories. IWU men finished second with five individual wins.

Indiana Wesleyan women scored 281 points on Saturday to easily win the meet as host Taylor (Ind.) University finished a distant second place with 125 points. Taylor won the men's invitational over Indiana Wesleyan by a score of 192-179.

Winning individual track events for the women were: Laura Bowman (200-Meter Dash; 25.74 seconds), Cassidy Wagner (400-Meter Dash; 1:00.02), Angi Wolgemuth (1,500-Meter Run; 4:55.79), Katelin Morgan (100-Meter Hurdles; 14.99 seconds) and Laura Dziagwa (3,000-Meter Steeplechase; 11:58.58).

Indiana Wesleyan won a pair of relay races on Saturday. The Women's 4 x 100-Meter Relay team of Morgan, Lizzy Skinner, Chelsea Heyne and Bowman won in a time of 49.17 seconds while Heyne, Wolgemuth, Kailee Whitaker and Wagner won the Women's 4 x 400-Meter Relay in a time of 4:05.25.

The Wildcats captured wins in five women's field events. They were: Tori Lee (Triple Jump; 10.26 meters), Tasha Cappella (Shot Put; 11.75 meters and Discus; 37.73 meters), Lindsey Carlson (Hammer Throw; 44.63 meters) and Marta Tillet (Javelin Throw; 34.80 meters).

Individual winners for the Wildcat men were: Seth Virgil (200-Meter Dash; 21.99 seconds), Jason Wenzel (800-Meter Run; 1:57.82) and Jeff Stuttler (400-Meter Hurdles; 56.00 seconds).

IWU also won a pair of relays on the men's side as well.

Virgil, Josh Williams, Jordan Easley and Andy Lipiec crossed the line first in the Men's 4 x 100-Meter Relay in a time of 42.58 seconds. Ethan Naylor, Wenzel, Andrew Albert and Eric Brown teamed together to earn the victory in the Men's 4 x 800-Meter Relay at 7:44.63.

Indiana Wesleyan will open postseason competition next week at the Mid-Central College Conference Championship. The two day meet will run from Friday, April 30 to Saturday, May 1 at Goshen College in Goshen, Indiana.
