MARION, Ind. -- Tuesday opens postseason play for both the Indiana Wesleyan University baseball and softball teams at Mid-Central College Conference Tournaments.
Softball begins the eight team, double elimination tournament at Lakeville, Indiana on Tuesday. No. 3-seed Indiana Wesleyan will play their first game at 12 p.m. against No. 6-seed Taylor (Ind.) University. IWU will play at 2 p.m. on Tuesday with a victory over Taylor or at 4 p.m. with a loss.
Marian (Ind.) University is the tournament's top-seed with a 16-0 record while host Bethel (Ind.) College in the No. 2-seed. The tournament will conclude on Wednesday afternoon.
Baseball will host University of Saint Francis (Ind.) at 4 p.m. on Tuesday in the MCC Tournament Play-In Series. The best-of-three series will hold two games on Tuesday with a final game at 4 p.m. on Wednesday, if necessary.
Three play-in series winners will advance to the final site along with the top three teams for a six team, double elimination tournament. Indiana Wesleyan will be the final site with games being contested from Saturday, May 8 through Tuesday, May 11. No games will be played on Sunday.
Winners of the MCC Tournaments will receive the conference's automatic bid to the NAIA National Championship. Softball will be in Decatur, Alabama while baseball will play at an Opening Round venue that will be determined later.
