MARION, Ind. -- Indiana Wesleyan University will battle Martin Methodist (Tenn.) College in the NAIA National Championship First Round at the Mobile Copeland-Cox Tennis Center in Mobile, Alabama.
The opening round match will be contested at 2 p.m. ET on Tuesday, May 18.
The winner of the match will advance to the NAIA National Championship Second Round on Wednesday, may 19 and play No. 5-seed Concordia (Calif.) University.
Indiana Wesleyan earned an automatic berth into the 24-team national championship by winning the Mid-Central College Conference regular season championship. IWU went unbeaten in conference play at 7-0 and is currently 14-7 overall.
The Wildcats will play in the NAIA National Championship for the fourth time in program history and second straight overall.
Martin Methodist makes their first national appearance at the NAIA tournament. The RedHawks earned the sixth of nine at-large bids courtesy of a No. 12 ranking in the final NAIA Top-25 Coaches' Poll of the season. Overall, Martin Methodist is 18-4 from the TranSouth Athletic Conference.
