SILVIS, Ill. -- Indiana Wesleyan University finished one of the best seasons in program history on Friday afternoon with a 14th place showing at the NAIA Men's Golf National Championship at TPC Deere Run in Silvis, Illinois.

Senior Austin Conroy finished his collegiate career with the Wildcats in a big way, securing the second lowest score of the fourth round with a three-under par, 68. Conroy finishes the national tournament tied for 14th place with a four round score of 296 (73-77-78-68).

Fellow senior Joe Madda was just one stroke behind Conroy for the week with a 296 (75-71-79-72) which put him in a tie for 17th to lead the Wildcats.

Sophomore Matt Milholland completed the tournament 83rd with a 317 (75-76-85-81) and junior Kyle Martin was 89th with a 320 (77-74-83-86). Sophomore Trey Rohrman placed 96th with a final total of 331 (90-82-80-79).

Justin Lower from Malone (Ohio) University won medalist honors in the 156-player field. Lower shot a four-under par, 280 (68-70-71-71) to win by six strokes.

Oklahoma City (Okla.) University won the team championship with a final score of 1,184 (293-299-304-288). Oklahoma Christian University was runner-up at 1,189 (291-301-306-291), edging out Malone by one stroke at 1,190 (299-293-304-294) and University of South Carolina-Beaufort by two strokes at 1,191 (295-291-312-293).

Indiana Wesleyan (300-298-320-300) and Johnson & Wales (Fla.) University (304-301-319-294) tied for 14th place at 1,218. IWU finished just four strokes behind Wayland Baptist (Texas) University at 1,214 for a spot in the top-10.

The Wildcat golf season comes to a close with five invitational championships and an impressive run through the NAIA National Championship.
