MARION, Ind. -- Indiana Wesleyan University softball has signed Chelsea Jones for the upcoming 2010-11 season.

Jones is a catcher from Colerain High School in Cincinnati, Ohio.

During her senior season, Jones hit .316 with a .338 on-base percentage. She collected three extra base hits in 22 games and scored seven runs.

"Chelsea has come highly recommended to our softball program. She is not only a talented catcher, but she also gets the job done at second base," stated Indiana Wesleyan head coach Sue Bowman. "Chelsea has a strong and accurate arm and will be a great defender behind the plate. She is also an outstanding academic student and will also fit into our NAIA Academic Team."
