GOSHEN, Ind. -- Indiana Wesleyan University women's tennis opened 2010-11 with a 9-0 road victory over Mid-Central College Conference foe Goshen (Ind.) College.

The Wildcats began the afternoon with a sweep in doubles action.

The No. 1-doubles pairing of sophomores Andrea Meyering and Lauren Wilson won 8-2 while seniors Lisa Massey and Eva Delk earned the 8-1 victory in No. 2-doubles. Senior Caitlin McGuire and junior Aubrey Lohser completed the doubles sweep with an 8-0 win in No. 3-doubles.

In singles, all six Wildcats won in straight sets.

Massey (6-3, 6-4), Meyering (6-0, 6-0), Delk (6-0, 6-0) and Wilson (6-1, 6-2) all won with decisive victories from the No. 1 through No 4-singles spots, respectively. A pair of freshmen also won on Saturday in their collegiate debuts. Kristen Futrell (6-1, 6-0) earned the win in No. 5-singles while Rachel Heiniger (6-1, 6-0) captured the point in No. 6-singles.

Indiana Wesleyan is now 1-0 this season and will next play at 3 p.m. on Friday, September 3 at home against MCC foe Grace (Ind.) College.
