MARION, Ind. -- The Indiana Wesleyan University volleyball team advanced to the Mid-Central College Conference Tournament championship match with an exhilarating 3-2 victory over visiting Bethel (Ind.) College on Thursday night in Luckey Arena.

Four of the five games were decided by three points or less as the Wildcats captured the match by scores of 30-17, 28-30, 31-29, 27-30, 15-13.

Game three turned out to be a pivotal game for the Wildcats. Indiana Wesleyan trailed 18-24, but scored eight of the next nine points to capture a 26-25 lead. IWU held on to earn the win and take a 2-1 match lead.

IWU freshman Kelley Morris recorded a season-high 40 digs in the match and junior Krystin Coleman added 28 assists. Senior Elisabeth Beam and junior Christy Beam each recorded three blocks and junior Rebekah Reichard contributed 16 kills.

Indiana Wesleyan improves to 31-7 on the season as Bethel drops to 27-11.

IWU clinches a spot in the NAIA Region VIII Championships next weekend. The Wildcats looks to capture the MCC Tournament championship at 1 p.m. on Saturday, November 10, as Indiana Wesleyan travels to play Taylor (Ind.) University.
