Men's Tennis - Thu, Mar. 3, 2011

MARION, Ind. -- Kyle Johnson will join the Indiana Wesleyan University men's tennis team in the fall of 2011.

Johnson is currently a senior tennis player at Bettendorf High School but attends Morningstar Christian Academy in Bettendorf, Iowa. Since Morningstar does not offer boys tennis, Johnson is allowed to play for another local school.

He has been very successful as an individual at Bettendorf. Johnson was the Iowa State runner-up as a sophomore and won the Iowa State championship last season as a junior. He is favored to win State again this season as the reigning champion.

"We are very excited to have Kyle become a Wildcat," said Indiana Wesleyan head coach Keith Ruberg. "Kyle is an outstanding recruit and will be a key part of the tennis program's continued success."

Indiana Wesleyan will continue the 2010-11 season when the spring portion of the schedule begins on March 18 at Aquinas (Mich.) College.
