Senior Gretchen Breckner was one of five Wildcats to earn academic honors.

MARION, Ind. -- Five Indiana Wesleyan University women’s soccer student-athletes received recognition for their work in the classroom.

Senior defender Sydney Bobo, senior midfielder Gretchen Breckner, senior forward Kate Turnow and junior forward Becca Mathews were all named NAIA Scholar-Athletes. Student-Athletes must maintain a 3.5 grade point average or higher to be awarded this honor.

 

Bobo, Breckner and Turnow receive the honor for the second time in their career while the award is a first for Mathews.

The four Wildcats, in addition to senior midfielder Ashley Kitchens, were awarded as NCCAA Scholar-Athletes. The NCCAA cut-off point for the honor is a 3.4 GPA.

Indiana Wesleyan ended its season with a 21-2-1 record and captured the program’s fourth NCCAA National Championship.
