WINONA LAKE, Ind. -- The Indiana Wesleyan University women's tennis team improved to 4-0 during the fall season with a dominating performance over Grace (Ind.) College on Tuesday afternoon in Winona Lake, Indiana.
The Wildcats did not drop a set to their MCC rivals, starting with a strong showing at doubles.
Andrea Meyering and Lauren Wilson captured an 8-4 victory at No. 1-doubles while Rachael Heiniger and Kristen Futrell won 8-4 at the No. 2-doubles position. Rounding out doubles competition, Aubrey Lohser and Kim Mella cruised to an 8-2 victory at No. 3-doubles.
Indiana Wesleyan continued their dominance as they headed into singles play.
Heiniger won 6-4, 6-1 at the No. 1-singles position, Meyering earned a 6-4, 6-2 victory at No. 2-singles, and Wilson was victorious at the No. 3-singles position with a 6-4, 6-1 win. Futrell triumphed at the No. 4-singles position with a 6-1, 6-1 win, Diane Jones followed suit with a 6-1, 6-1 win at No. 5-singles, and Mella dominated at the No. 6-singles position with a 6-0, 6-0 win.
The Wildcats return to the courts at 4 p.m. on Thursday versus Anderson (Ind.) University at the Sutter Tennis Center. A victory over Anderson would be the 200th straight win in the fall season for Indiana Wesleyan.
