WINONA LAKE, Ind. (Box Score) -- No. 22-ranked Indiana Wesleyan University volleyball dropped a 3-0 match to Grace (Ind.) College in the Mid-Central College Conference opener for both teams tonight in Winona Lake, Indiana.

The Lancers (6-4, 1-0 MCC), receiving votes in the latest NAIA Top-25 Poll, won the three set match by scores of 25-23, 25-22, 25-20.

Senior middle hitter Peyton Thompson led the Wildcats with nine kill while senior outside hitter Kate Denlinger and junior outside hitter Brooke Atwell each added seven. Junior setter Yui Iwase set 26 assists for IWU.

Defensively, Denlinger totaled three solo blocks and two block assists. Senior middle hitter Lauryn Barfell added a solo block and block assist while sophomore middle hitter Kristine Egebrecht contributed a pair of block assists.

Indiana Wesleyan (6-3, 0-1 MCC) returns to action at 7 p.m. on Friday, September 9 when the Wildcats travel to play Goshen College in Goshen, Indiana.
