GOSHEN, Ind. (Box Score) -- The Indiana Wesleyan University volleyball team captured its first Mid-Central College Conference victory of the season Friday night with a 3-1 win at Goshen (Ind.) College.
The Wildcats won the four game match by scores of 25-15, 25-27, 25-13, 25-11. Indiana Wesleyan is now 1-1 this season in the conference and 7-3 overall. Goshen drops to 0-2 in MCC play and 3-3 for the year.
Indiana Wesleyan served 12 aces on the evening, led by freshman Alijah Mulitauopele's five and junior Jordan Sudzina's four.
Senior Kate Denlinger collected a team-high 17 kills while sophomore Kristine Egebrecht contributed 10. Denlinger finished with a .486 kill percentage while senior Lauryn Barfell added eight kills with a .533 kill percentage. Setting a majority of the kills was junior Yui Iwase with 38 on the night.
Egebrecht assisted on three blocks and six different Wildcats earned a solo block. Senior Kelsey Masuda had a team-best 18 digs while Iwase and sophomore Rebecca Brandes each had 12.
Indiana Wesleyan returns to action tomorrow when IWU hosts Bethel (Ind.) College at 3 p.m. in Luckey Arena.
