MOBILE, Ala. -- Three first half goals was more than enough for host and No. 15-ranked University of Mobile (Ala.) in a 3-1 victory over the Indiana Wesleyan University women's soccer team.
Mobile quickly got on the scoreboard with a goal in the fourth minute. UM added on with two more goals in the 23rd and 39th minutes to head into halftime up 3-0.
No. 17-ranked Indiana Wesleyan avoided the shutout when junior forward Kylie Dial struck the back of the net in the 85th minute.
IWU sophomore goalkeeper Rachel Fulkerson was tested often in her first collegiate start on Friday. Mobile peppered the Wildcat defense with 25 shots while nine were on goal. Fulkerson made six saves in her first start.
The Wildcats now stand 4-3-0 on the season. IWU returns to the pitch at 6 p.m. Saturday night versus Northwood (Texas) University in Mobile, Alabama.
