FORT WAYNE, Ind. (Box Score) -- The Indiana Wesleyan University women's tennis team captured an easy 9-0 victory versus the University of Saint Francis (Ind.) on Tuesday in Fort Wayne, Indiana.
The 9-0 victory started with a sweep in the doubles to take the lead at the start of the match 3-0.
Lauren Wilson and Andrea Meyering were victorious at No. 1-doubles with an 8-2 win while Rachael Heiniger and Sarah Richert teamed up for an 8-2 victory at No. 2-doubles. Finishing out doubles play for the Wildcats were Aubrey Lohser and Kim Mella at the No. 3-doubles position, which they won 8-2.
Indiana Wesleyan completed the sweep by winning all six singles matches.
Heiniger won 6-2, 6-0 at the No. 1-singles position, Meyering cruised to a 6-0, 6-1 victory at No. 2-singles, and Wilson defeated her opponent 6-0, 6-0 at No. 3-singles. Diane Jones earned a 6-3, 6-3 win at No. 4-singles, Mella battled for a 6-0, 7-5 victory at No. 5-singles, and Lohser completed the match with a 6-2, 6-0 victory at No. 6-singles.
Indiana Wesleyan improves to 7-0 on the season and 5-0 in Mid-Central College Conference play. The next match for the Wildcats is at MCC rival Taylor (Ind.) University at 4 p.m.on Thursday in Upland, Indiana.
