MARION, Ind. -- The 2011 Daktronics-NAIA Men's Soccer Scholar-Athlete list was announced this morning and five student-athletes represented Indiana Wesleyan University.
Making the grades were junior forward Seth Douwsma, senior defender Ben Stoddard, senior midfielder Jesse Bassett, senior defender David Enger and senior midfielder Ross Tanzer. Bassett, Enger, Stoddard and Tanzer all earn the honor for the second time in their career.
Student-athletes are nominated by their institution's head coach and must maintain a minimum grade point average of 3.5 on a 4.0 scale and must have achieved a junior academic status in order qualify for the honor. A total of 286 student-athletes were recognized.
Indiana Wesleyan finished the 2011 season with an 11-10 record and a sixth place finish in the Mid-Central College Conference.
