MARION, Ind. -- Gabrielle D'Aniello is the first person to sign an athletic letter of intent for the 2012-13 school year to continue her women's tennis career at Indiana Wesleyan University.
D'Aniello is from Louisville, Kentucky where she plays No. 2-singles for the Christian Academy of Louisville High School. Her record was 23-11 the past two years and her senior season will be this spring. She is currently ranked 12th in the state of Kentucky by tennisrecruiting.net and currently ranked 11th in the state of Kentucky in the USTA Girls 18 Division.
D'Aniello also has played for the Junior USTA Kentucky Team since 2008. Her team won the Junior USTA State Championship in 2009 and represented Kentucky in the Southern Sectionals in Mobile, Alabama. Her overall record for single and doubles is 27-5.
"I am very happy to have Gabby join our team next year," said Indiana Wesleyan head coach Terry Porter. "She is a wonderful Christian young lady and an outstanding tennis player. She is a perfect fit for Indiana Wesleyan."
D'Aniello also excels academically. She is a member of Beta Club and National Honor Society where she serves as secretary. She has donated over 120 hours of community service. She is a cancer survivor and was the 2005 Honorary Hero for the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society.
D'Aniello will major in Pediatric Nursing while attending Indiana Wesleyan.
