FORT WAYNE, Ind. -- Indiana Wesleyan University women's tennis claimed a shortened 5-0 match at University of Saint Francis (Ind.) on Saturday in Fort Wayne, Indiana.
The match was moved inside to the Wildwood Racquet Club due to heavy rains. Having to move inside, the match was ended once the Wildcats earned the decisive fifth win.
Indiana Wesleyan won all three doubles matches for the early 3-0 advantage. Andrea Meyering and Lauren Wilson won 8-1 at No. 1-doubles, Kristen Futrell and Rachael Heiniger took an 8-3 victory at No. 2-doubles, and Courtney Siepman and Gabby D'Aniello earned an 8-2 win at No. 3-doubles.
Meyering and Futrell then completed the team victory with two quick singles wins. Meyering easily won 6-1, 6-0 in No. 2-singles while Futrell did not lose a game in a 6-0, 6-0 win at No. 4-singles. The other four Wildcats in singles action all won their first set.
Indiana Wesleyan improves to 10-0 on the season and 7-0 in the Crossroads League. IWU returns to the courts at 3 p.m. on Tuesday, September 25 against Marian (Ind.) University.
