MARION, Ind. (Bracket) -- The NAIA released the brackets tonight for the NAIA Division II Women's Basketball National Championship in Sioux City, Iowa. Indiana Wesleyan University learned they were one of four No. 1-seeds for the tournament as they watched the Selection Show in their locker room.
The Wildcats lost the Crossroads League Tournament Championship to University of Saint Francis (Ind.) and dropped from No. 1 in the poll to No. 4 in the final poll released earlier tonight. IWU enters tournament play with a 30-3 record and will make their 11th consecutive appearance at the national tournament.
The 32-team tournament is split into four quadrants with teams seeded from No. 1 to No. 8. Indiana Wesleyan will play No. 8 Point Park (Pa.) University in the First Round at 8 p.m. ET on Thursday, March 7.
Point Park will make its second NAIA National Tournament appearance and is 25-6 on the season. The Pioneers earned an automatic bid by winning the Kentucky Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (KIAC) Tournament. Point Park also qualified last year and lost in the First Round.
The Round of 16 will be contested on Friday and the Quarterfinals on Saturday. Sunday will be an off day before the Semifinals are played on Monday. The National Championship will be played at 7 p.m. ET on Tuesday.
