CEDARVILLE, Ohio -- Three singles competitors made it to the quarterfinals and two doubles teams made it to the semifinals for Indiana Wesleyan University in the Intercollegiate Tennis Association Midwest Regional this weekend in Cedarville, Ohio.
Junior Julia Hedgebeth, senior Brittany Raymond and freshman Eva Delk each advanced to the quarterfinals in the championship bracket of the 32-player field. Hedgebeth advanced to the semifinals where she was defeated 6-1, 3-6, 5-10.

Freshman Lisa Massey and senior Kristi Haddad each won their first match of the tournament before bowing out with losses in the round of 16. Sophomore Courtney Kooyers lost her match in the first round.

In doubles action, the duo of Delk and junior Laura Helm marched to the finals in the 16-player championship bracket before falling 8-4 to a team from Huntington (Ind.) University.

Raymond and senior Sarah Bauss reached the semifinals and were upended by teammates Delk and Helm. Haddad and Massey won their first match but were defeated by the eventual champions from Huntington in the quarterfinals.

The Wildcats return to the courts at 4 p.m. on Tuesday, September 25, as Indiana Wesleyan hits the road to battle Defiance (Ohio) College.
