MARION, Ind. -- For the first time this season Indiana Wesleyan University is ranked in the NAIA Men’s Tennis Coaches’ Poll, entering with a No. 25-ranking.

Indiana Wesleyan is No. 25 with 62 points. On the season, the Wildcats are 15-5 and 2-3 during the very difficult spring schedule. Indiana Wesleyan is the lone Crossroads League team represented in the top-25.

Indiana Wesleyan dropped both matches last week on the road to ranked opponents. IWU lost 9-0 at then No. 13-ranked Aquinas (Mich.) College on Friday and then dropped a 6-3 decision at then No. 21-ranked Olivet Nazarene (Ill.) University.

The top three teams in the poll received first place votes in a close vote for the top spot. Embry-Riddle (Fla.) University is No. 1 with 334 points and five first place votes, Auburn Montgomery (Ala.) is second at 333 points and four first place votes, while Vanguard (Calif.) University is third with 329 points and four first place votes.

Indiana Wesleyan returns to the Sutter Tennis Center this weekend as they host the annual Mark Richards Classic. Indiana Wesleyan will play Taylor (Ind.) University at 5 p.m. on Friday and then play IU East and IU Southeast on Saturday.
