KENOSHA, Wis. -- The Indiana Wesleyan University cross country teams took part in the NAIA National Championships on Saturday morning in Kenosha, Wisconsin.

The men captured 10th place while the women were 16th.

For the women, the Wildcats placed 16th with 412 points. Simon Frasier (B.C.) University secured the national championship with 99 points and Cedarville (Ohio) University finished runner-up with 145 points.

Senior Emily LaSala placed in the top-10 with an eighth place finish. LaSala finished the 5,000-meter course in a time of 17:56.

Other Wildcat runners scoring in the team competition were sophomore Kailee Whitaker (75th, 99th overall – 19:11), junior Sarah Lacy (102nd, 143rd overall – 19:33), freshman Cassidy Wagner (110th, 156th – 19:41) and freshman Melissa Morgan (117th, 163rd – 19:43).
