CEDARVILLE, Ohio -- The Indiana Wesleyan University cross country teams ran very well at the National Christian College Athletic Association National (NCCAA) meet on Saturday in Cedarville, Ohio.

Senior Emily LaSala captured the NCCAA women’s individual championship as she completed the 5,000-meter course in a time of 17 minutes and 59 seconds.

The women tallied 94 points, behind national champion Cedarville (Ohio) University with 29 points and runner-up Malone with 61 points. Both schools rank in the NAIA top-five. There were 24 teams competing in the championships.

Also scoring for the Wildcats behind LaSala were freshman Cassidy Waggoner (19:02) in 16th, sophomore Kailee Whitaker (19:25) in 24th, junior Sarah Lacy (19:27) in 25th and senior Hilary McNichols (19:35) in 28th place.

Indiana Wesleyan will complete their season next weekend as the both teams will compete in the NAIA National Championship on Saturday, November 17 in Kenosha, Wisconsin.
