INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. -- The mens and womens cross teams each won the Mid-Central College Conference championship for Indiana Wesleyan University on Saturday at Indianapolis, Indiana.
Despite strong performances from the Wildcats, each team had to claw their way to a narrow victory. The men edged Huntington (Ind.) University, 39-41 to win the championship. The women earned a 34-38 victory over Spring Arbor (Mich.) University to complete the sweep.
The No. 18-ranked men won with a deep roster, as four Wildcats were named All-Conference for their performances. Senior Elias Rojas (26:04) was third, junior Joshua Foss (26:15) was fourth, junior Bryan Hazel (26:18) was sixth and senior Daniel Ballard (26:36) was 12th as the top-12 runners earned all-conference honors.
Completing the team results for Indiana Wesleyan was senior Josh Miller (27:01) in 14th while senior Luke Hutchins (27:18) was 17th and sophomore Josh Schweigert (27:56) was 28th.
Indiana Wesleyan returns to action on Saturday, November 3, as the Wildcats compete in the NAIA Region VIII Championships, being held in Grand Rapids, Michigan.
