MARION, Ind. -- The Indiana Wesleyan University men’s tennis team crushed visiting Saint Francis (Ind.) by a 9-0 margin this morning at Indiana Wesleyan’s Sutter Tennis Center.
The victory moves the Wildcats to 6-3 on the season and 5-1 in Crossroads League action.
Kyle Johnson and Brandon Dubuque won No. 1-doubles by an 8-1 score while Leonard Mathews and Gavin White easily won 8-2 in the second match. Finishing the doubles sweep at No. 3 play was Adam Wroughton and Kama Tabor with a 9-8 victory.
Even with the doubles sweep, Indiana Wesleyan looked even better in singles competition.
Johnson won the No. 1 billing by 6-3, 6-3 score, Dubuque cruised to a 6-0, 6-2 win at No. 2-singles, and Mathews had a 6-0, 6-0 blowout in the No. 3-match. White also had a 6-0, 6-0 victory in No. 4-singles, Daniel Smith earned the No. 5-singles point with a 6-1, 6-2 victory, and Wroughton won No. 6-singles by a 6-0, 6-1 win.
Indiana Wesleyan remains home for their next match which will be at 4 p.m. on Tuesday versus Marian (Ind.).
