MARION, Ind. -- Christian Davis was named the Mid-Central College Conference Defensive Player of the Week and Mason Bragg was the MCC and NAIA Region VIII Offensive Player of the Week for men’s soccer, according to the conference.
The pair led Indiana Wesleyan to two wins in conference play. The Wildcats defeated Spring Arbor (Mich.) University 5-3 on the road and Taylor (Ind.) University 2-0 at home.
Davis received the honor after playing a key role in the Wildcats shutout over the Trojans. The Nyack, New York native made three key defensive plays to preserve the shutout victory.
Bragg was recognized for his four goals and one assist last week. In the Wildcats win over Spring Arbor, Bragg recorded a hat-trick in addition to assisting on another goal. A native of Colorado Springs, Colorado, Bragg capped his week with the game-winning goal against rival Taylor.
Indiana Wesleyan is currently ranked No. 6 in the NAIA polls. The Wildcats have accumulated a record of 13-2-1 this season and look to improve on that mark at 7 p.m. on Wednesday, October 17, as the Wildcats travel to play Bethel (Ind.) College.
