UPLAND, Ind. -- Five Wildcats qualified for the NAIA national meet and three program records were broken as the men’s indoor track and field team competed in the Taylor Invitational on Saturday in Upland, Indiana.
Junior John Bowman, senior Kyle Boley and junior Josh Foss each broke a varsity indoor record in addition to qualifying for the national meet, which will be held in Johnson City, Tennessee on March 7-8.
Bowman tossed the shot put 51 feet 6 inches and captured first place in the event while Boley earned a mark of 15 feet in the pole vault, good for third place. Foss won the 800-meter run in a time of one minute 57 seconds.
Two other Wildcats also earned a trip to the NAIA nationals on Saturday.
Senior Josh Miller with a time of 4:21.96 in the mile run and senior Zach Weber completed the 55-meter hurdles in a time of 7.73 seconds to advance to the nationals.
Indiana Wesleyan will return to action at 12:30 p.m. on Saturday, February 9 as the Wildcats host the IWU Invitational in the Indoor Sports Complex.
