MARION, Ind. -- Indiana Wesleyan University senior center Lisa Thompson scored career point 1,000 on Wednesday night at Bethel College in Mishawaka, Indiana.

“I am very proud of Lisa for getting to this milestone,” said IWU head coach Steve Brooks. “She has made a lot of progress during her four seasons at Indiana Wesleyan and I am not surprised that Lisa accomplished this. She has worked extremely hard to get to this point.”

Thompson entered the contest with 988 career points. She finished the evening with a team-high 21 points to give her 1,009 points to date.

The Kokomo, Indiana native has shot 55.5-percent from the floor during her Wildcat career. She has recorded 371 of her points this season while shooting 60.9-percent from the field. Thompson’s 14.5 points per game this season leads Indiana Wesleyan.

The Wildcats are 22-5 this season and are currently ranked No. 12 in NAIA Division II.
